- Subject: QVTNET Auto-start Terminal session
-
- Hello all, Using Qvtnet it is possible to "auto-start" a terminal session,
- and in my terminal setup, I have set the default TCP port to something other
- than 23. My problem is that when I start QVTNET, it connects to my
- 'auto-start' host, but does not use the PORT which I set in the setup screen,
- it uses port 23 instead. Anyone know why this happens? and do you know of a
- work-around.
-
- -Thanks, Greg

- Subject: MS TCP/IP-32 and German WfW3.11
-
- I downloaded the new MS TCPI/IP but unfortunately it only seems to
- work with the English version of WfW 3.11. With my German WfW the
- install procedure doesn't finish. It hangs in the add protocol popup.
- I think the problem occurs in the tcpip_install section of
- oemsetup.inf where the setup program cannot genereate the MSTCP32
- entry in protocol.ini. However, if I add that manually there are still
- problems with the tcp32ui.dll, which does not start.
-
- Has anybody encountered the same problems or does anybody know of a
- workaround.
- I would also appreciate listings of the files protocol.ini and system.ini
- of working installations (by mail or post)
-
- Thank you

- Subject: Latest version of Mosaic w/o hotlist bug
-
- Hi,
-
- Can anyone tell me where i can find the latest version of Mosaic-for-
- windows? My 'what's new' page tells me it's 'here' but that version
- still has the old problem of not being able to 'add to hotlist'....
-
- So, that must be the 28th of Feb. version.
-
- Where is the 1st of March version, the one without the bug??

- Subject: [Q] Auto-detecting an IP address using WinSock.
-
-
- I'm writing an application that needs to determine the IP address of the
- machine it is running on during startup. I've been using gethostname()
- followed by gethostbyname(), with the obvious limitations that method
- incurs, but must move to a solution that is not hostname dependent. The
- WinSock doc says getsockname() is only a sure thing after a connect(). The
- catch is, my application only uses asynchronous UDP sockets. Is connecting
- "somewhere" via TCP the only hope?
